Postural Alignment Assessments

Donna Shearman, Posture Alignment Specialist certified by Egoscue University. She is the only Egoscuse Affiliate in Louisiana.

We now offer  Postural Assessments and corrective exercises that were developed by Egoscue University. 

The initial appointment is an hour and a half, including the posture assessment, generating a menu of E-cises, and teaching you the exercises.

The cost is $150. Follow up appointments are $70 for one hour. 

What is Postural Therapy?

Postural Therapy involves a series of stretches and gentle exercises called E-cises. They are designed re-align the body to it’s natural design posture and treat musculoskeletal pain without drugs, surgery, or manipulation. This is accomplished by bringing the skeleton back into proper alignment. Certain E-cises relax overly contracted muscles, which are usually secondary muscles compensating for the weak primary muscles not fulfilling their role. At the same time, other E-cises strengthen the atrophied muscles to restore proper anatomical balance. The goal of this method is to have all eight load-bearing joints, which are the shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles, bilaterally aligned with a fully functional musculoskeletal system to keep it that way.

Our studio uses the recommended equipment to enhance your results, but most exercises can be done with things you find around your home.

How long will it take?

The E-cises need to be done on a daily basis. It took time and repetition for your body to get out of alignment, and it will take time and repetition for it to correct itself. Your commitment will be worth the effort when you are moving pain-free with energy to spare. Most menus take 30 minutes to an hour sometimes longer initially. 

The more often you do your menu, the faster you will see results!

Function and Flow Class

Come improve your posture with this series of Egoscue exercises we call e-cises. Each 50 min. class consists of functional movements to help you restore your natural posture, correct misalignments, and eliminate pain.
